Guatemala Miracles by Carol makes every attempt to keep adoption program fees reasonable. You will find our fees very competitive with other agencies and we have a host of payment plans to fit every situation. Fees for services listed below are due at the time service is rendered. For this reason, fees paid to the program are mostly non-refundable.

A. Estimates of Fees required for all Guatemalan adoptions:

Filing fee I-600A $545.00
I-600A fingerprint fee $70.00 (Per adult person 18 years of age or older living in home)
Home Study Fee (varies by state) $1,000.00-$3,000.00 paid directly to home study provider
Secretary of State Fees $10.00 per document (varies by state)
Guatemalan Consulate Fees $10.00 per document
Laboratory Fee: DNA Testing $470.00 (Paid directly to lab in North Carolina by family's credit card)
Child's Visa application $380.00
Passport Fees $95.00 per parent
Child's Medical Exam $50.00-$100.00

B. Program Fee

Agency Fee: $6,000.00
Foreign Source Fee: $20,000.00 (This fee includes foreign attorney and court fees, foster parent support, program administration, international communication, medical expenses and vaccinations for the child, processing of child's post-adoption paperwork, passport and visa, social worker fees, etc.)
Total Program Fee: $26,000.00

C. Travel Expenses (Paid to 3rd party carriers, such as airline and hotel.)

Airfare $500.00 and up per person
Lodging $85.00 to $105.00 per night
